  17. There are clubs that may be of benefit to people who want to learn
  18. more about packet radio.  Here's some info.
  19. North East Digital Association   (I'm editor for this one)
  20. Box 563 Manchester NH 03105 - NEDA runs a LARGE TheNET network of 
  21. 35 multiport nodes over a 400mile range including
  22. Boston, Concord, Manchester, Springfield, Pittsfield
  23. Albany, Utica, Rochester, Binghamton, Buffalo.  No
  24. phone lines, no tricks, just 150 radios/TNCs with
  25. dedicated point to point UHF, 220, 6m, 900, 1200mhz
  26. links and 2m and 220 user access ports.  The club publishes about 180
  27. pages /year of newsletters, new user help stuff, tech stuff etc.
  28. The Quarterly is about 35 pages/quarter.
  29. Membership is $15/year for US.  Send a SASE to the
  30. POBox.

  32. Northern California Packet Association
  33. This is an education and coordination club that puts out a quarterly 
  34. journal called the Downlink.  The one I have here is 20 pages long and
  35. is chock full of packet stuff.  THey are

  39. New England TCPer - This journal comes out 6 times a month and $12/year

  43. is 30 to 40 pages long including commercial advertising.  $16/year

  47. Joining a club, even a non-local one is a good way to get into correspondance
  48. that will answer some of the harder questions.  One of the items that
  49. I helped create recently for NEDA was a 13 page glossary of packet terms
  50. that the club will probably make available.  It was created for a technical
  51. developement meeting in Scranton Pa a couple of weekends ago.
